The Beating of Your Heart

Let me share a little post that really ministered encouragement to me this morning. It’s from my friend Butch who writes at Wordsmith’s Desk.

Wordsmith's Desk

“I came to listen and in the quiet…I heard the beating of my heart.”

Find a time when your movements and thoughts can cease; “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

…when your heart and soul can rest; “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;… (Psalm 23:2)

…when everything is as it should be; “…He leadeth me beside the still waters.” (Psalm 23:2)

…when you can hear the beating of your heart. “He restoreth my soul…” (Psalm 23:3)

Every day I look for God to touch my life. That intersection of the divine and the daily is what I write about here at A Really Full Life.

  1. Thank you for sharing. Just what I needed to hear today – confirming my current experience. Last week – and now this week – I am experiencing a time of restoration and rest. I am hearing His voice louder and clearer than I have in a long time. Blessings to you, my BFF. ❤

    1. I wonder how many times I’ve missed an invitation from Jesus to ‘Come away’!!! Today this just spoke peace to me. I’m so glad it blessed you too.
Let’s have a Chai Tea Latte once Cassie has that baby 😉

  2. it’s important to remember that whatever our situation, we’re standing on holy ground. to embrace that simple fact is an act of rest – faith – trust – in a holy Lord.
