We all long for a meaningful life.

Making it happen is like making good Holiday Fudge, you gotta have quality ingredients and the right environment.
Then there’s the process.
Assembling the tools, understanding the directions, and doing the right thing at the right time so that you get the desired result.

If only life were as straight forward, as predictable as cooking!
We could all find a reliable, tried-and-true recipe that appealed to us and just follow the directions.

But life is usually messy, chaotic, and anything but predictable.
Life excels in throwing the curve ball.
So what can we mere mortals do to increase our odds of finding and living a meaningful life?

I love it when answers to the BIG QUESTIONS pop up in unexpected places.
That’s just what happened to me yesterday, actually very late last night.

I recently began a new course called Intentional Bloggers offered by Jeff Goins http://intentionalblog.com

Intentional Blogger

One of the things that keeps prodding me along in life and in blogging is the belief that God doesn’t make any junk.

Every one of us is handcrafted by God and especially designed for a specific purpose He has in mind.

And He works with a long purpose in mind, you might say an eternal purpose.
His vision for each of us is all encompassing.
There is a plan, a distinct purpose for every person, every living soul and it covers the length and breadth of that life.

Finding that plan, God’s plan, is at the deepest core of a meaningful life.

As I was working my way through some of the course sections, the assignment at the end of one was to decide what my ‘WHY’ was.
Why was I blogging?

The question caught me off guard which was good.  It made me stop and think, evaluate, and do a little soul-searching.  That’s never a waste of time.

Why we do what we do is just as important as What we do.

Last night I realized why I blog.
It’s so simple, so clear now.
I want to help others find and know God so that they can discover His purpose for them personally.

I’m a Bible teacher by calling and gifting.
I didn’t choose that, it was chosen for me.
God chose it for me and then started giving me opportunities to do what I was called and gifted to do.
Others were blessed.
I was blessed and totally energized by it.

But I have found that this blog has extended my opportunities to reach out and share my message.
Not like worldwide reach, but a reach beyond my own church, my own city, my own country.

You are part of God’s WHY for my life.

I love the opportunity, the privilege of writing about God.
About His truth, His grace, and His amazing purpose for each one of us.
And I want to do it well for Him and for you, those of you who stop by or get my posts in your Inbox.
I’ve drifted off message over the past few months, but this question helped me refocus.
I want every post to be something meaningful to you, something helpful to you.  Something that draws you closer to God, inspires you to live for Him, and reminds you that He is FOR you, on your side, pouring His grace into your life every day in greater measure.

Sometimes questions helps us think more clearly, so. . .

How about you?

Have you found the WHY of your life?
Have you discovered God?  He’s as near as the breath you breathe.
Do you know He loves you more deeply than any one else ever can or will?
Everything He has planned and purposed for you is waiting for you in His presence.

God calls us first to Himself and then to a purpose.
If you’ve ever read the Bible you know that’s His MO.  He called Moses to come over to a burning bush and after introducing Himself He gave Moses a new purpose.  Ditto for Noah who first found grace in God’s sight and then a big DIY project called the Ark.
Have you met God?  If not, He’s still waiting for you.
Once you know Him He’ll lead you on to a purpose.
A mission, an epic undertaking that may look like building an ark or like raising a family, like killing a giant or like running a business.

God is at work in the world and He has a part for you in His purpose.
I promise you’ll find a meaningful life by saying yes to God and embracing His WHY for your life.

You can do it right now, right where you are.
It begins when you open your heart to God and put your faith in His Son Jesus Christ.
Talk to Him now.  He’ll listen and begin leading you into His special plan designed just for you.

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
