My favorite contemporary poet. It was wonderful hearing her. I’ve always loved to hear her read her own poetry.

This was the first time I heard Maya reading it herself. I had the fortunate opportunity years ago to show an all-female college class the video of Oprah’s commencement address at Wellesely College. She reads this poem at the end to the all-female graduating class. Thanks for posting this.
