Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin,
to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.
Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)
Starting small gets God’s approval.
When we want big changes we often turn up our noses at small starts, at ‘petite’ course corrections.
God is doing a significant work in each one of us, but He doesn’t try to do it all at once.
He told the children of Israel that He’d drive out their enemies little by little.
The New Testament teaches us that He’s keeping to that pattern.
Displacing the old man and helping us mature in Christ as our new nature puts down roots.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you
will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6
Don’t give up, don’t surrender to discouragement, or believe the lie that you’ll never change.
Have a little faith.
After all, it can move mountains.
