What’s your greatest need, desire, or hope?
What do you want to ask from Jesus?
While he walked the earth ‘he went about doing good’.
He met the needs, granted the desires, and fulfilled the hopes
of people who came to ASK.
In the secular world those who want to do good, like fundraisers for medical research and disaster relief organizations, get training on MAKING THE ASK.
What is your ASK?
Jesus told us to ask.
Then he said to seek.
Then he said to knock.
He promised a positive response. Matthew 7:7-11
What are we waiting for?
We have an invitation to ask.
I wondered this morning about the people, the regular people like me and you, who happened to be in Jerusalem at the temple when Jesus came to clean house and answer all who MADE THE ASK.
He got rid of those who had been hijacking God’s agenda and then he declared God’s intention for the Temple: ‘a house of prayer’.
. . .He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”
And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did. . .
Matthew 21:13-15
WONDERFUL THINGS, I love that description.
He’s waiting for us to ask him to do wonderful things.
Things that prompt wonderment, a state of awed admiration or respect.
Take a few moments to talk to Jesus and ask.
We’re all blind.
We’re all lame.
He wants to open our eyes.
He wants to make us whole.
He’s waiting to do more wonderful things.
If we’d only MAKE THE ASK.
