Speaking of the Academy Awards. . .
My morning reading took me to Exodus 14 where God is setting things up for the big dramatic action scene.
Exodus reads like a movie script, complete  with dialogue and action sequences.
God’s giving direction to His lead actor, Moses.

The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me?
Tell the people of Israel to go forward.
Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.
And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen.
And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
Then the angel of God who was going before the host of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them,
Exodus 14:15-19

Places people.
Action.

OK, that’s how it all seemed—in my head.

If it was ever made into a movie, oh yeah, it was, well the focus would be on the dramatic action and the special effects.

Paying attention to those things, we’ll miss the TAKE HOME MESSAGE:  Once God speaks to us He wants us to go forward.

“Why do you cry to me?”
Go forward.
ACTION.

Once He’s told us His plan He doesn’t want us on our faces—He wants us on our feet!

But we hesitate.
We want a little more info.
Clarification.
First steps.

Spielberg learned the secret of how to ‘go forward‘.
He uses Indiana Jones to demonstrate.

We spend our years as a tale that is told.
That’s Psalm 90.

God is the writer and director of our lives.
Let’s not waste time and squander His genius.

The Sea will part, the stones will appear.
It’s called walking by faith.
