For several months I’ve been morphing into a night owl.
I’m actually a morning person, but I slowly began staying up later and later as the clock hands keep marching on toward a new day. This has to stop because I can’t stay asleep in the morning and I also can’t function on 6 hours of sleep.
I know, I know. I hear many of you saying, “What a whiner. Six hours. Who sleeps more than six hours?”.
I do. I sleep from 11:00 PM until 6:56 AM.
At least I used to.
And I will once more so help me God.
I’m quitting night-time use of my computer & iPad cold turkey.
As of now I am powering down and going back to real books for bedtime reading.
Let K-Mart corner the market on the Blue Light Specials.
I’m going back to the incandescent light of my bedside lamp.
Really it’s a wall sconce, but it’s got the old fashioned incandescent light bulbs.
When I thought the whacko environmentalists were gonna make incandescent light bulbs illegal in California I went to a place called The Bulbman and bought them by the cases.
I am the proud owner of a lifetime supply of regular lightbulbs in a wide variety of wattages.
I am aware that this sounds a little crazy. A little hoarder-ish.
Think what you want.
The blue light is wreaking havoc with my circadian rhythms.
While I’m ranting I might as well take on the fluorescent family.
Fluorescent lights make me nervous.
You know the kind in old offices.
Creepy.
And that noise they make.
I’d go postal after a week or two of that noise.
There’s research people.
I’m not making this up.
Tomorrow I’m headed to the Almost Perfect Bookstore.
No more Kindle purchases for this girl.
AND I’m up 4 pounds in the last six months.
It’s not even my fault.
I just found this WebMD article.
I’m blaming my iPad.
