This post is dedicated to Stuart M. Perkins http://storyshucker.wordpress.com/about/
Stuart liked my previous Weekly Challenge: Sea post and so I started nosing around his blog and wanted to stay all day and maybe for dinner.
Do yourself a favor and pay him a visit.
I wanted to say thank you to Stuart for the enjoyment I derived reading his blog.
There are lessons there too for anyone who’s paying attention: for example, his titles.
And the man can tell a story that makes you feel like you are right there in the room, or on the bus, or in the yard.
You know what I mean.
So, I’m sharing a very old and favorite cookie recipe by way of repaying the joy.
Stuart, I hope you like cookies and aren’t allergic to nuts or gluten or chocolate because that would kind of take all the fun out of these cookies.
Thanks for the reminder that we don’t have to look very far to find the makings of a good story.
I’ve collected quotes about writing since I was in college.
Here’s a favorite for you Stuart.
I do most of my writing sitting down. That’s where I shine.
Robert Benchley (1889-1945)
Chocolatier magazine is sadly no longer published.
I hope I don’t end up in jail for copyright violation.
So, just to cover all the potential legal bases I acknowledge that this recipe was published in Chocolatier magazine September 1987 and was submitted by Amy Hodgett of Yucca Valley, CA.
If I do go to jail I plan to write a great blog post about the experience.
