Throughout October we have examined the layers of truth describing the Proverbs 31 Woman.
Now toward the end of this incredible passage we come to the words that pull on our heartstrings and stir a deep yearning to experience ourselves this joy, this long anticipated, greatly desired joy.

Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
Proverbs 31:28

It’s not the praise we seek, but the having mattered.
It’s not the accolades, but the godly influence we sought.
It’s not the thanks, but the certain knowledge that we got it right after all.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
Psalm 84:11

Grace to meet all our need.
An inexhaustible supply for the myriad of demands we encounter every single day.

Grace as strength
Grace as love
Grace as kindness
Grace as wisdom
Grace as patience
God’s grace received and transformed to meet a specific need.

A thousand ways His grace abounds to us throughout our lives.
A gift that opens our hearts to Him at salvation will never cease flowing in and through us to others.
That’s His plan.

And then . . .glory.
Glory will follow the grace.
The warm praise from our families is just the beginning.
Someday we long to hear Him say,
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”

How many wives, how many mothers will be rulers over many things for eternity?
I am completely intrigued by this thought.
God’s ways are not our ways.
His thoughts are not our thoughts.
In God’s economy faithfulness in little things matters.
And it never goes unnoticed.

Tomorrow morning when the weekday routine begins again,
tomorrow, remember as you have your first cup of coffee or tea,
remember that there’s grace in abundance for all your need.
And where grace is received, where grace is embraced, the promised glory will always follow the grace.
