What is man, that you make so much of him,
and that you set your heart on him,
Job 7:17

The Bible tells us how to find God.
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13

It tells us how to love God.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Matthew 22:37

But over and over and over again it tells us that God loves us.
Yesterday I found another reminder tucked away in the book of Job.
It’s a truth to be reckoned with.

I’ve spent a lot of time sharing with others how to grow in their spiritual lives.

Sharing the incredible good news of God’s love for us.

Preaching the truth of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Teaching the power of the Scriptures to transform us.

But yesterday I was reminded that God has set his heart on us.

From God’s perspective it is all about you.

His plan of eternal redemption is all about you.
The life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ is all about you.
The gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit is all about you.
Each a part of God’s divine provision designed to bring you back to him.

Christ is the bridge that spans the gulf that existed between you and God.
God built that bridge.

in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19

He built it because of you.
Because of his great love for you.
He has set his heart on you.
