There is a powerhouse passage on prayer.
You’ll find it tucked neatly in amongst a bunch of verses about church discipline and forgiving another christian.
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Matthew 18:19-20
One definition of Critical Mass is the minimum size or amount of something required to start or maintain a venture.
Jesus defines it as two or three.
Prayer isn’t about prying open God’s hands and getting Him to release blessing, or provision, or even guidance.
No, prayer is opening our hearts to receive and embrace what’s on God’s heart.
To start caring about what He cares about.
Getting jazzed about what excites Him.
Prayer is the ultimate Link*Up
If you’ve read this blog much you know we minister in Ghana, West Africa.
On our last trip our hearts got filled up with kids.
A child’s life isn’t easy in Africa.
Our ministry was always to adults, but this time kids moved front and center in our vision.
And we just knew God was getting ready to introduce Himself.
We want to be part of that.
We can’t miss out on that!
There’s a stirring in our hearts for God to move. To work and to use us to help carry out His plans.
Tonight I saw the promise from Matthew in action.
There were seven of us and Jesus.
He was there among us just like He promised.
Faith billowed and certainty anointed every request.
We know we have what we asked of Him.
The others in the group may never go to Ghana with us, but they have a stake in this.
There are going to be kids in the kingdom who came through some of the prayers offered tonight.
Do you want more meaning in your Christian life? Enlarge your sphere of caring.
Even if you’re a mom at home with kids strewn all over the house, you can still pray for somebody!
You can always pray for the village children of Ghana.
Join us. We’re asking God for a teachable plan for evangelism and discipleship for kids.
I’d love to join with you and pray for your own request.
