When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing:
Psalm 126:1-2
What are you waiting for?
In every heart there’s a longing. A yearning that waits.
It’s just out of your grasp, just beyond your control, so you wait.
Maybe you’re waiting for more light to show you the way.
Or for an uphill journey to end.
Are you waiting for your ship to come in?
Or the clouds to give way to the sun?
Some of us wait a long time before we finally see the fruits of our labors.
Today if you’re waiting, remember that you’re waiting on God.
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psalm 62:5
You’re not waiting for your husband to be more interested in spiritual things.
You’re not waiting for a stubborn rebellious teenager to listen to the voice of wisdom and experience.
You’re not waiting for your manager or boss to finally appreciate your contribution.
You’re not waiting to find a spouse, or to have a baby.
You’re waiting on God.
Try to do it in faith.
Try to do it patiently.
The Lord hath done great things for them.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Psalm 126:2-3
After the waiting it’s like a dream, and once more laughter and singing fill our lives.
But, the waiting comes first.
Praise God the waiting isn’t forever.
He makes us glad by the great things He has done.
My thanks to my beautiful sister in Jesus, Carolyn, who shared this video with me after singing it in church this morning.
Keep these words burning in your heart.
