You have two options in life: March to the beat of your own drum or NOT.
For a country obsessed with ‘selfies’ we are a people terrified of being ourselves.
What if my friends don’t like my hair, my shoes, my furniture?
Easy, get new friends.
We’re constantly fluctuating between finding ourselves and reinventing ourselves.
Let’s make up our minds and just get on with being what we are and doing what we do.
I want to be like this:
COMFORTABLE IN MY OWN SKIN.
If I want wrinkles I’ll have them, if I want Botox, I’ll get it.
If that bothers you, then stop thinking about it.
Free to wear the cool red sunglasses at church 😉
God made us social creatures, but He also warned us not to get ‘caught in the trap’ of worrying about what others think of us.
Being guided by the opinions and judgments of others is the quickest route to insecurity and unhappiness!
Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
but trusting the Lord means safety.
Proverbs 29:25 NLT
Be who you are, who God made you to be.
Did you notice that the elephant has a broken right tusk?
Did you judge her for that?
Elephants are suppose to have beautifully symmetrical tusks, right?
How can she come out of the trees with that broken tusk?
You’d think she’d be too embarrassed?
Is that why she was alone, did the others shun her, ditch her, not answer her calls?
We all have broken parts.
That doesn’t mean we aren’t still spectacular!!!
I hope I can look at others and see the awesomeness God built in to them and have compassion for the broken parts.
And laugh with the one wearing the funky sunglasses.
She’s usually the one that’s the most fun 😉
