It's one big job made up of a million little ones. You've got this!

It's the secret sauce for your Christian life.

The thing that distinguishes an artist is the ability to appreciate the potential for beauty in things usually overlooked or discarded. This quirky piece of art sits along Interstate 5 south of Stockton. On a cloudy January day it was strangely beautiful standing in relief against the wintery yellow field and a foggy shroud of mist.

God is an artist.

He takes what others discard and overlook and He makes from it art, something beautiful.
If we let Him.

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
1 Corinthians 1:26 (ESV)

He won’t force us to be beautiful, but He’ll make it possible.

You’ve heard that He’s the potter and we’re the clay.
Have you watched a potter work with clay? There’s a lot of water to ease the process and hands that are gentle yet skilled. The potter sees in His mind what He intends and those hands gradually bring it into being.

We live in a culture of the self-made person.

I don’t want to be a self-made woman.
Having tried it I freely confess I lacked the vision and the skill to get the job done.

I want a Designer label on my life.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

Those are the best storied Kelly, the ones that have local bits tossed in. I follow you in email, so whenever you write, it shows up. This time it was like “oh, I think she’s been gone a while” but it’s always good to see a post from you.

Happy birthday dear Kelly.I will pray for safe passage in your travels and rest and refreshment in France. Also for favor in Africa. We both appreciate your kind thoughts.

Hi Dan, You’re a true WordPress buddy to show encouragement to someone who’s been AWOL for so long 😉 I think I’ve blogged long enough to really miss it when I stop. My granddaughter saw my post and replied via message that the structure is leftover from some kid of Ironman race event years ago. I couldn’t find any ‘Google confirmation’, but I’m going with local knowledge on this one. Thanks.

    Hi Tom,
I think my poor blog almost died from neglect, but I’ve been running like a hamster on a wheel since January! We’re leaving for two months on a trip to France—for my birthday 😉 and then on to Ghana, West Africa for 5 weeks of ministry. I hope to get some blogging done while we travel. Your blog looks great Tom and I know the Lord is using you to reach others with a message of hope even in suffering. God bless you and Carolyn. I loved your post, Who Will Help. That passage from Isaiah is a touchstone Scripture!

    Blessings in Jesus,
