My heart is breaking over the 223 young women taken captive from a school in northern Nigeria.
I can’t imagine the terror they are facing. I’m asking that you join with me in prayer for their safety and their deliverance from these men with evil intentions and hearts full of hate.

young African girls

I’ve made this image from a photo taken in Ghana.
It’s sole purpose is to remind us to pray for theses young women.

You are welcome to take it from this blog post as a prayer reminder.
You are also free to share it on FB or any other SM so that others will join us in prayer for these young girls.

It is on my Pinterest and tumblr both of which can be accessed from the Home page of this blog.

There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that make haste to run to evil,
Proverbs 6:16-18

Events like this remind me that this world is not my home!
And my heart cries out, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

    Oh Kelly my heart breaks for them. I pray so hard for them all. Those poor girls. And their families torment too. So cruel.

    This story is really disturbing – as is every case of Islamic persecution against Christians.

    What many people fail to see is how this demonic ideology is encroaching upon US soil and the fact that the Obama Admin is funding Islamic terrorists.

    My prayer is for these precious girls, as well as all others being tortured and persecuted for their faith in Christ – as well as for Muslims to have an encounter with Jesus Christ of Nazareth who sets the captives free.

    • Kelly Grace says:

      Thank you for your prayers for these girls.
      This morning I turned to Psalm 65.

      You who hear prayer,
      to you all men will come.
      By awesome deeds of righteousness, you answer us,
      God of our salvation.
      You who are the hope of all the ends of the earth,
      of those who are far away on the sea;
      Who by his power forms the mountains,
      having armed yourself with strength;
      Psalm 65:2,5-6

      There’s both a political and religious battle going on in northern Nigeria and these girls are helpless victims of those struggles.
      We can’t do anything about any of that, but we can lift these girls and their families up to God who hears prayer!
      Let’s remember these girls and hold them up until God delivers them!!!

  3. I am praying for them.

    Thank you for this heartfelt post. The situation is unimaginable and appalling. I will put these girls on my morning prayer list.

  5. Jeanine C. says:

    They have been on my heart as well. Praying often.
    Psalm 9

    • Kelly Grace says:

      Oh how beautifully powerful.

      The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
      a stronghold in times of trouble.
      Those who know your name trust in you,
      for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
      But God will never forget the needy;
      the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
      Ps. 9:9-10, and 18

      Thanks for your prayers Jeanine.

  6. Gretchen says:

    I so want them to know the kindness and gentleness of our Savior. It breaks my heart that all they have seen is oppression, cruelty and fear. I am glad this is back in the news. The story had disappeared. Praying they will be brought to safety and they somehow through this will hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

    • Kelly Grace says:

      Thanks for your prayers and for sharing on FB. Events like this seem far away and that’s why I wanted to try to put it front and center and remind us to pray for them. 3 weeks! I can’t imagine the horror for them and their families.

  7. Such a travesty and hearts of total hatred. I am praying certainly for the girls, but honestly Kelly, at times like this I have to pray for myself because of the feelings I have toward the perpetrators. The Lord can save these men and I pray that He does.

  8. lisa evola says:

    I pray that the Lord comforts them in their fear. I cannot even imagine what they must face but I know he walks along with them, holding their hands and strengthening them. I just don’t understand how anyone could do something like this. How such evil can come out of a person made in His image. So very sad for them all……

    • Kelly Grace says:

      Thank you Lisa for caring and praying. It’s easy to ignore the tragedy and evil in the world. We may not be in a position to help first hand, like Corrie Ten Boom’s family in WWII, but our prayers can reach the heavens and our God can reach around the world.
