There’s an old gospel song entitled All Prayed Up.
That’s a great motto for a Christian.
One day when the disciples couldn’t cast out a demon, they asked Jesus why.
He told them that type could only be dealt with by prayer and fasting.
In other words, they weren’t ALL PRAYED UP.
We don’t know what we might encounter on any given day, but I know we’d be better prepared spiritually to handle it, and to help others, if we’ve spent some time in prayer.
The prophet Amos felt God wouldn’t do anything without telling His servant first. (Amos 3:7)
Are we listening though, that’s the question?
Prayer is pouring out our hearts and lifting up our needs, but it’s also listening.
Getting still and listening for the heart of God as He shares it with us.
It doesn’t take hours, but it does take commitment and a true desire to hear from God.
God wants to work in and through you every day. Prayer is His opportunity to prepare you for the unknown God moments coming your way.
Prayerlessness is carelessness. It closes the door to opportunities and reduces our effectiveness for Him.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:18
How about you? Are you ALL PRAYED UP?
