God Is For You

God is for you! Oh, I wish I’d known that in the early years of my walk with God. In this episode we’re going back to the early years of my Christian life ~ almost 50 years ago to see how my failure to connect the truth of God’s word to my everyday life really did have a negative impact on my experience of joy and peace.

In Romans 12:2 the Apostle Paul gives us some important advice, he wrote,

Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its mold, but let God re-make you so that your whole attitude of mind is changed.

Two Scriptures that Changed my mindset 

The first verse that spoke to my fears was Psalm 56:8-9

You yourself have recorded my wanderings. Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your records? Then my enemies will retreat on the day when I call. This I know: God is for me.

Paul picks up the same idea in the New Testament in Romans 8:31-32

 If God is for us, who can be against us? Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he also, along with him freely give us all things?

Discovering the truth set me free

No matter what happened in my life going forward, I hung on to the truth that God was for me and that truth has kept doubts and fears from stealing away the joy and peace God intends for me and for all His children. Don’t doubt His love, His grace or the fact that He is for you!
