It’s a great question to ponder as we approach Advent and a new year. On a list of 100 questions I found the questions what would you do if you had a year/ 6 months / 1 month etc to live. It was really interesting to see the line at which the things you chose would work fine if you had much longer. When you are thinking about long term provision as Burgess was as well as making the most of the time. The one thing common to all my answers was to pray more for my children, praying into the future that I would not be alongside them for.
Praying is always the best thing we can do for those we love most in this life 😉
The best thing we can do for our kids is give them wisdom. Teach them where to find it for themselves. That equips them for life. I think parenting is the slow and steady work of teaching a child how to know, discover, and desire God’s will in everything.
